Rohanna founded Wise Trading Technologies in 2015 to address the gap in vendor technology that automates currency risk management. Previously, she spent over 20 years on FI and FX trading and trading technology for various asset managers, including MFS and Wellington. She is the author of the book Hedging Wisely. Rohanna holds an MBA degree from Columbia Business School and a BA in Economics from University of Rochester.
Ben Ernest‐JonesCo‐Founder, CTO
Ben is responsible for Software Development at Wise Trading Technologies. Previously, he spent over 20 years designing and building software systems. As Product Manager for Capital Markets Solutions with Apama, the leading Complex Event Processing (CEP) engine vendor, he developed and managed Apama’s FX Aggregation and Sales solutions in addition to multiple algorithmic trading systems used by tier 1 and 2 global investment banks.
Ben holds an MS in Electrical and Computer Engineering and a BS in Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University
Shereen ShermakHead of Marketing
Shereen is responsible for Business Development, Marketing at Wise Trading Technologies. She previously spent the last decade in the startup world and worked on the management teams of several fintech companies specializing in FX, including BuysideFX and Currensee. She is the founder of Good Growth Ventures, and CEO of Launch Angels, a Boston-based seed stage VC firm. Shereen holds an MBA from MIT School, an MPA from Harvard Kennedy School, and a BSE from Duke University.
John O'ConnellSenior VP, Business Development
John is responsible for the Business Development at Wise Trading Technologies. He previously spent 25 years in capital markets and he was a derivatives trader on the floor of the Chicago Board of Trade before moving “upstairs”. He also was part of the electronic trading with Archipelago. John has worked in sales/business development roles for front, middle, and back office tools and platforms for vendors such as Eze Castle, Thomson Reuters, SS&C, IM Trader, and Kensho. John holds various licenses including Series 3, 7, 24, 55, and 63. He has a BS of History from University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
Jan HumbleSales Engineer
Jan is responsible for software development and product demos in the company. He has more 10 years experiences in capital markets and financial services strategies with marketing leading analytic platforms, serving customers in EMEA and the Americas. He served as solution engineers in a few software companies, such as Software AG, Progress Software.
Jan holds an MSC in Applied Physics from KTH Royal Institute of Technology
Ningjing is response for Marketing, internal and external communications and operations in WiseRisk. She previously worked as a consultant in PwC, specializing in Strategy and Operations Consulting. She then worked as a Marketing Consultant and Business Development Specialist for a few start-ups.
Ningjing holds an MBA from Babson College and a BS in Finance from Shenzhen University.
Judith GentlemanClient Implementation Consultant
Judith is responsible for product implementation for clients. She has more than 15 years of experience working in the technology sector; SQA testing, implementing cloud based software, and training end users. She is also a former adjunct professor at a Boston college where she taught computer and technical writing courses. Judith holds a MS in Management with a concentration in eCommerce from Cambridge College and is currently pursuing her PhD in Information Systems at Nova Southeastern University.
Edward St. LawrenceDeveloper
Edward is responsible for Software Development at Wise Trading Technologies. He is a full stack web application developer with 20 years experience, specializing in test driven development, continuous integration, loosely coupled architectures, and Design Patterns. He worked with various startups in the San Francisco Bay Area before starting his own boutique consulting business. Edward holds a BS in Computer Science from The University of California, Santa Cruz.
John advises on product design at Wise Trading Technologies. Previously, he spent 25 years in trading and he was the visionary behind currency derivatives infrastructure at Wellington Management. His responsibilities included workflow design, trading implementation, creating and implementing compliance and regulatory protocols.
John holds a BS in Finance from University of Connecticut and is currently working towards a Master’s Degree in history at Harvard University.
Sean advises on product design at Wise Trading Technologies. He specializes in quantitative strategies in FX management. He previously was an analytic advisor to institutional clients on topics ranging from FX hedging, asset allocation, and risk driven investment strategies at State Street. He is currently part of the research and investment team at Acadian Asset Management.
Sean holds an MBA from Boston University, an MS in Mechanical Engineering from Boston University, and a BS in Physics from James Madison University.
Arlind advises on product design and development at Wise Trading Technologies. He oversees the investment strategy and execution of a Houston-based single family office. In addition to the development and as part of the implementation of the overall strategy, Arlind leads the sourcing, diligence, and execution of the direct investment portfolio focused primarily on acquiring outright ownership or controlling interests in lower-middle-market, private businesses and real estate assets. Prior to this role, Arlind worked in the energy investment banking group for Wells Fargo Securities and for Atlantic Trust Private Wealth Management. Arlind received his BA in Economics from the University of Texas at Austin.
Jason advises on technical decisions at Wise Trading Technologies. He is a technology expert with a broad range of experience including systems architecture, software development, and infrastructure design and deployment. He has provided technical leadership for eight early stage start‐ups, including Signal Vine, and worked on a wide range of tech projects for varying types of clients. Jason holds a BS of Computer Science from Boston University.
Brian Castagna advises on cybersecurity and risk management at Wise Trading Technologies. He has over 14 years experience in technology auditing and building information security programs at early stage technology companies including Jumptap, Acquia, and Dyn (acquired by Oracle). He has expertise in Data Privacy, Security Incident Response, Threat Intelligence, Security Architecture, Security Engineering, Risk, Controls, and Compliance leading successful security audits across multiple verticals including FedRAMP, HIPAA, ISO 27001, SOC 2, SOC 1, and PCI DSS.
Brian holds various information security certifications including CISSP, CISM, & CISA. He holds an MS in Accounting Information Systems and a BS in Computer Information Systems from Bentley University.
